2005 Signature Zinfandel

Sometimes referred to as "America's Heritage Grape," Zinfandel was widely planted in northern California during the time of the Gold Rush. Since it is a New World grape, winemakers enjoy considerable latitude in exploring the possibilities of the Zinfandel grape without the constraints imposed by grapes with an Old World heritage.
Primus is carrying on the tradition by developing a unique Zinfandel in the original Gold country.

2005 Merlot

A relative newcomer to the California wine market, Merlot was originally used to enhance Cabernets. Soon winemakers discovered that a Merlot was fully capable of yielding a fine wine with an uncanny ability to age gracefully. Primus Vineyards has developed a dark, rich and strong merlot selection that has become a favorite among our customers.

2005 Cabernet Franc

Recently shown to be one of the genetic parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc grape produces a lighter wine with less tannins than it's progeny. Although both grapes produce similar yields, the Cabernet Franc normally buds and ripens earlier and can survive cold winters better than Cabernet Sauvignon. As a result, this grape is perfectly suited to the high altitudes of the Sierra Foothills. Primus' 2005 Cabernet Franc had proven to be an exceptional example of what this varietal has to offer.
